We bring a professional team with over 17 years experience in procuring wood fuel. The procurement team is supported by a proprietary network of over 200,000 wood fuel sources across North America. Our depth of experience, backed by the best fuel supply data in the country, gives our customers an edge in achieving their fuel procurement goals.

We provide complete end-to-end fuel procurement services on a full-disclosure, fully transparent basis, at a cost of $1.00 per ton. We believe that the cost of our fuel procurement services is paid back many times in terms of lower fuel costs, lower administration costs, higher fuel quality, and more reliable supply.

1. Location of Fuel Supply

   Our Biofuel Supply Network^®  contains over 98% of the sources of fuel supply in North America. We know the sources as well as the competitors for wood fuel in your woodshed. We make sure they know about you. Our comprehensive market knowledge means more purchasing power for our clients.

2. Bid Solicitation / RFQ / Contract Negotiation Support

   As powerful as our Biofuel Supply Network^®  is, we understand that fuel supply decisions ultimately require human intelligence and consultation. Therefore, we combine our technology and market intelligence with an expert team of fuel procurement professionals.

   Our fuel procurement team knows what it takes to reliably secure wood fuel in a competitive market. We provide expert support during negotiation with local fuel suppliers. On behalf of our clients, we can solicit bids, manage RFQs, and even carry out reverse or post-and-respond auctions for wood fuel supply. With our support, our customers receive the highest quality fuel at the lowest price.

3. Management of Fuel Supply

   We coordinate multiple suppliers, monitor offsite stockpiles, and interface seamlessly with personnel on-site to ensure that the fuel gets from the woodshed to the plant on time and on spec. We also:

   • communicate with all suppliers to monitor fuel assets,
   • co-ordinate fuel deliveries by truck, rail and vessel,
   • handle disputes regarding quality and quantity,
   • maintain an on-line Fuel Delivery Schedule (including truck numbers and weigh bills) which is available to clients 24-7 on a real-time basis from our secure server.



4. Quality Control

   We coordinate sampling of delivered fuel and laboratory analysis of samples to ensure high-quality fuel all the time. All sampling is done according to ASTM standards. Laboratory reports are posted on our secure online server accessible 24-7.

   We quickly address any fuel quality problems with individual suppliers to ensure homogeneity of supply and delivery of on-spec fuel.

5. Ongoing Cost Management

   Comprehensive real-time knowledge of the wood supply market and ongoing dialogue with suppliers in the woodshed help our customers keep their fuel costs low year after year.

   We continually solicit new supply sources on behalf of our customers. We manage inquiries and responses from potential suppliers in the woodshed on an ongoing basis.

   We are able to maintain ongoing electronic post-and-respond auctions in which clients post their fuel demand and set the price they are looking for. This open process can spur competition and can help achieve lower cost fuel on an ongoing basis.

   Once a year, we issue and manage an RFQ on behalf of all customers. At the end of the RFQ process, we forward the names of all interested bidders, the available quantity of each, and the price bid.

6. Invoice Payment Services

   We are a one-stop shop for invoice payment services. Our customers generate one check per month to us. We manage (on a fully-transparent basis) payment of multiple suppliers, reconciliations, premiums and penalties.

   We provide complete invoice reconciliation services on a line-item basis. We’re able to scan invoices into .PDF format and post them to a secure, auditable online library. We also take action to correct disputed invoices.

   We create a detailed "Supply Profile Report" that is available online 24/7 and which contains the total current year-to-date spend with each supplier and the quality monitoring report.
