Our risk science, written into national standards.
Ecostrat co-developed the risk frameworks that now underpin two CSA Group standards. Built with the US Department of Energy national laboratories and validated by leading lenders, insurers, and bioeconomy stakeholders, they let capital flow more easily, more quickly, and less expensively to biomass based projects.
Provides requirements, recommendations, and guidance for understanding and quantifying the risks to a biomass supply chain. It grew out of the Biomass Supply Chain Risk (BSCR) framework Ecostrat developed with the US Department of Energy national laboratories, giving lenders and developers a common language for feedstock risk on biomanufacturing projects.
View on CSA Group →A standardized framework for assessing how ready a geographic region is for biomanufacturing. It quantifies regional biomass supply and infrastructure risk to identify the most promising areas for biofuels, renewable chemicals, biogas, and biobased products, and underpins the BDO Zone rating and certification program.
View on CSA Group →The underlying framework was developed by Ecostrat with the US Department of Energy’s Idaho National Laboratory and Los Alamos National Laboratory, with funding from the US Department of Energy’s Bioenergy Technologies Office, the Government of Canada, and the Standards Council of Canada.
