Make your feedstock bankable. Win more projects.
Upgrade your BDO Zone to an Insurable BDO Zone. Every project that looks at your region gets a capped feedstock cost, insurable supply it can reserve, and policy terms within 45 days of reserving. Lenders stop asking the feedstock question. You start closing.

A capped feedstock cost, published
Every developer sees the Insured Price Cap for your Zone before they visit. The number their lender fears most is already answered.
Supply they can reserve in their name
Serious prospects hold a tranche of your insurable supply. A reservation is a dated commitment to your county, visible to competitors.
Underwriting that starts at the finish line
Your rating becomes the regional baseline. A project that reserves supply gets a Non-Binding Indication of policy terms from New Energy Risk within 45 days.
Another tool in the toolbox. One no competing region has.
A BDO Zone rating puts you on the map. The Insurable designation puts you on the shortlist.

Designation
What economic developers ask before they upgrade.
A biomass supply region that has been rated under the BDO Zone Standards Framework and prequalified for Feedstock Supply Insurance (FSI). The rating says the feedstock is there. The designation says its cost can be capped by insurance.
Yes. The Insurable designation is an upgrade to a rating. If you don’t have one, we start there and the two can run together.
A fixed fee for the upgrade, paid once by the economic development organization. Projects pay their own reservation fee, New Energy Risk’s underwriting fees and their policy premium. The first Insurable BDO Zone received the upgrade at no cost. If you want to talk cost for your region, contact us using the form or the phone number on this page.
The maximum cost a plant will ever pay for the delivered feedstock. In other words, the delivered cost of biomass above which the policy pays. It is published for your Zone as a range with a lower and an upper bound, and a project’s own cap is set inside that range at underwriting.
No. The designation and its certificates are not policies, offers of insurance or supply agreements. Every policy is subject to full underwriting of the specific project by New Energy Risk and its capacity partners.
