Lead, plan and deliver advisory engagements and feasibility studies on biomass feedstock supply and risk for clients across North America, owning scope, timelines, analysis and final reports end to end.

The role
- Report directly to the Director of Advisory Services and to the President.
- Lead, plan, manage and deliver advisory engagements and feasibility studies related to biomass feedstock supply and risk for clients across North America.
- Work with the Director of Advisory Services to develop the approach and deliver project scopes of work, create project activity plans and set timelines.
- Allocate and coordinate project activities across Ecostrat Advisory Group risk modelers, analysts, researchers and the biomass origination group as necessary to deliver on project objectives, and support project team members in delivering their work components.
- Collect, analyze and interpret all project-related data. Compile, draft and deliver lucid, state-of-the-science reports that meet engagement objectives.
- Ensure project goals and objectives are met and deliver results on time.
- Interact with clients as necessary to deliver on the engagement.
Qualifications
- Well-experienced in researching, structuring, drafting and delivering reports pertaining to biomass supply chain risk.
- Specific expertise in assessing, sourcing and understanding feedstock / supply chain risk for food waste and other organic waste streams.
- Strong analytical skills: demonstrated proficiency in independent research, data management and analysis/modeling.
- Established and able to demonstrate proficiency across your career in the biomass sector.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to write first-class reports (clear, well-articulated, well-presented).
- Dynamic, self-starter and finisher with a demonstrated ability to lead projects independently.
- Ability to combine big-picture thinking with precise, detail-oriented analysis and processes.
- Extremely organized: process-oriented and self-disciplined, with a strong ability to juggle projects and timelines to deliver on time.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Minimum one degree in a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience.
- Experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) an asset.

The role
- Lead advisory engagements and biomass supply due diligence studies for clients across North America.
- Be responsible for organizing, researching, drafting and delivering risk assessment reports and other advisory services.
- Draft and deliver professional, first-class reports.
- Conduct research across the forestry, agricultural and waste sectors.
- Conduct market data analyses.
- Manage several advisory engagements at once.
- Take ownership of client relationships and find new projects, meeting with clients regularly on Zoom to understand their needs and respond effectively.
- Interface with clients in a professional manner.
- Report directly to the Director of Biomass Advisory Services, working with the support of junior analysts and researchers.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience conducting feedstock / raw material supply studies.
- Minimum bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, forestry, economics, engineering, journalism, English or another related field.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects (feedstock supply assessments) independently.
- Demonstrated proficiency in independent research, data analysis and modeling, and report writing.
- Demonstrated interest in energy, natural resource management and/or waste management — you care about the environment and energy sustainability, and want to be part of the solution and contribute to the clean economy.
- Excellent communication skills, including oral, written and presentation.
- Experience managing staff on multiple projects and providing direction to team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment (and know when to lead and when to follow).
- Self-starter and self-finisher with a high energy level, a high sense of urgency and a results orientation.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Proven knowledge of research, statistics, modeling and analytical techniques.
- Experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) an asset.
- Extremely systematic, process-oriented and self-disciplined, while still able to see the big picture — you can plan and implement, and juggle a number of tasks and workflows.
