BDO Zone Ratings Gain Recognition in USDA's New Bioeconomy Plan for America
April 30th, 2024 – The BDO Zone Initiative is proud to announce that BDO Zone Ratings have been recognized in the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) “Plan to Enable the Bioeconomy in America: Building a Resilient Biomass Supply” as a pivotal tool to expedite the development of biobased industry across the nation.
The USDA’s comprehensive Plan, released in March 2024, is the response to President Biden’s Executive Order 14081, which directs efforts to support the resilience of U.S. domestic biomanufacturing.
There are currently over 48 BDO Zone ratings issued in North America with over 100 expected by the end of 2024.
“We are deeply honored to have BDO Zone Ratings specified by the USDA in four distinct areas of the Plan as an important driver of the US bioeconomy” stated Jordan Solomon, Chairman of the BDO Zone Initiative. “This recognition will support our mission to 10x the rate of bioeconomy development worldwide and to empower project developers, investors, governments and communities to harness local biomass resources as engines for decarbonization and job creation.”
